Authorities name person of interest in shooting of Utah park ranger - CNN.com: "Lance Leeroy Arellano, 40, is believed to be armed, dangerous and seeking medical attention, the Grand County Sheriff's Office said.
Law enforcement officials use the term 'person of interest' when they are seeking to question a person who has not been formally accused of a crime.
Authorities say they are seeking Arellano in connection with the Friday night shooting of 34-year-old ranger Brody Young.
Young was in critical but stable condition as of Sunday afternoon, according to a Utah State Parks and Recreation spokeswoman.
Arellano is the registered owner of a silver 1999 Pontiac Grand Am, the sheriff's office said. It was not immediately clear whether the vehicle is the same one authorities said was found near the shooting and is believed to belong to the suspect.
A rifle, backpack and part of a blood-soaked T-shirt believed to belong to a man who shot the ranger were recovered by police, Grand County Sheriff Jim Nyland said Sunday.
The items were recovered about a mile from where investigators found a car near Moab, Utah, believed to belong to the suspect, Nyland told CNN."
